The LPGA-USGA Girls Golf of Coronado is kicking off its 13^th season!? We?ve confirmed our calendar for the season ahead (see ?Event Schedule? at www.coronadogirlsgolf.com) and accepting registrations (please go to ?Join Girls Golf? at www.coronadogirlsgolf.com).? Girls Golf is committed to introducing girls to the game of golf in a fun and non-threatening environment and to using the opportunity to promote life skills: esteem for herself and others, confidence, leadership, and the vision to dream big.

?Our professional golf instructors and volunteers are committed to making this a great year for our girls in golf and a very fun celebration of 13 years together! ? We are looking forward to spending much time together learning new golf skills, getting to know our team mates, and playing golf!

?LPGA-USGA Girls Golf (Girls Golf) provides an opportunity for girls in grades 2 through 12 to learn to play golf, build lasting friendships, and experience competition in a fun, supportive environment, preparing them for a lifetime of enjoyment of the game.? The only national initiative of its kind, Girls Golf is administered through a partnership between The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Foundation and the United States Golf Association (USGA).? Girls are given the opportunity to learn valuable lessons inherent in the game of golf, such as patience, respect, perseverance and honesty, preparing them to meet the challenges of today's world with confidence.

?Any girl in grades 2-12 is welcome to join Girls Golf.? Whether you've played golf before or not, there's a place for you in the program.? Membership is limited to 40 girls, so it is important to register early on.? Because space is limited and in order to get value out of the program, we ask that applicants be prepared to participate to their fullest.

?Please join us Monday, March 25th @ 3:30 at the Coronado Golf Course as we gather for our ?Kick Off?.? We will be completing paperwork, sharing our vision for the year ahead, and giving the girls an opportunity to either work on their skills, or play golf. ?

my scandinavian home: A relaxed family home in Gothenburg

Hej hej and happy Friday! The week has flown by! Here on My Scandinavian Home it's been a week of relaxed, bohemian homes hasn't it? It wasn't planned, it just happened seemed to happen that way. This Gothenburg home belongs to Nanna and her family and I feel it fits in perfectly! Nanna writes a lovely blog called 'S? vint Jag vill' ('As nice as?I want') which is full of really wonderful photography documenting her days on maternity leave at home, it's definitely worth heading over and taking a look. Here are a few snaps from her lovely blog.

I love the art wall, it reminds me very much of my own one in fact. And also the wallpaper in the kitchen dining area. It makes me wonder if we should change our blackboard wall for wallpaper.....shhh don't tell my husband he'll go nuts! You can see a complete interview with Nanna and more pictures here.

Report Claims iPad mini to Gain Retina Display in 2013

The likelihood of an upgrade for the iPad mini display with the second generation is high, DisplaySearch informed CNET. But the iPad mini 2 release date is a mystery at this point: Analysts and even DisplaySearch forecast a third quarter or fourth quarter launch.


Rumours of a Retina Display iPad mini were around before the device was unveiled last year, but Apple decided to go with a 1,024 x 768 pixel display. The next step could be to go Retina, which means the 7.9-inch tablet would sport a 2,048 x 1,536 pixel display, according to Paul Semenza of DisplaySearch.

This means the Retina Display iPad mini would get close to that of the iPhone?s display with a pixel density of 324 pixels per inch ? a big step ahead, compared to the current version?s 163 ppi.

DisplaySearch also named a couple candidates for providing the display: According to Semenza?s channel checks LG Display, AUO, Japan Display and even Sharp are the best options for Apple.

A strong candidate would be Japan Display ? which provides iPhone 5 displays for Apple ? as the company shows a desire to get into tablets, Semenza said. And like LG Display, the company has the very strong technology needed to provide very high resolution.

Going Retina, however, also triggers design changes ? and would add additional costs to the total bill of materials ? like we?ve seen with the iPad 3, which is thicker and heaver than the non-Retina predecessor, the iPad 2.

Semeza also pointed to the competition: We will likely see an updated Nexus 7 before the iPad mini 2 launch, he says. Google also aims high: According to Semenza, the potential of stepping up to a 1,900 x 1,200 HD+ format is high, which would boost the new display?s pixel density to 323 ppi.

Whatever Apple?s choice will be, the consumers seem to love their iPad minis with the current pixel density ? but competition is always good for us, the consumers.

Hulu taps Andy Forssell as next CEO following Jason Kilar's departure

We've known since early January that Hulu CEO Jason Kilar will step down sometime in the first quarter, and now that we're well into March, the streaming service has additional news. Writing on the Hulu blog, Kilar said that when he departs "at the end of this quarter," senior vice president of content Andy Forssell will assume the role of CEO. In addition to praising Forssell's efforts in expanding Hulu's list of content partners, Kilar mentioned that Hulu part-owners Disney and News Corporation are finalizing "forward-looking plans" with the site. The exiting CEO isn't exactly leaving a company in a shambles; the 2012 financial results were none too shabby, and the paid Hulu Plus service has ballooned to a healthy 3 million users.

Samsung demos Smart Scroll, Smart Pause and Air Gesture on Galaxy S 4

Along with several other new software features demoed at its event in New York today, Samsung showed off a Smart Scroll utility, which lets you page up or down by tilting the Galaxy S 4 in the corresponding direction. The company also demoed Air Gesture, which similarly lets you scroll without putting your fingers to the glass. Finally, a feature called Smart Pause will detect your eye movements to intelligently stop video when your gaze turns away from the screen.

With dramatics fitting of the Radio City Music Hall venue, Sammy gave us a quick look at all these features in action: at a bachelorette party, where Air Gesture lets partiers look at messages without putting down those champagne flutes; on the street, where a woman can check out that guitarist on the corner without missing a second of the latest Engadget Show and -- well, Smart Scroll is straightforward enough to speak for itself. Samsung Galaxy S 4 hands on: Nice phone but new tricks disappoint

The Galaxy S 4, Samsung's new flagship phone, is supposed to make you feel like a wizard ? wave to toggle between pages, point to get previews. It sounds amazing ... in theory.

In reality, the impressive-sounding features of the Galaxy S 4 ? Smart Pause, Smart Scroll, Air Gestures, Air View, and so on ? won't exactly blow any minds. When I tried them out, they failed to work half the time.

Admittedly, I only spent a bit of time with the phone and I used it in a strangely lit environment full of flashing cameras, but still. I expected magic.

When I tried to wave my hand to toggle between Web pages, the Galaxy S 4 only sometimes recognized my gesture. When I hovered my finger over a list of messages to preview one, the phone took forever to realize my intent.

I sighed. Once you strip away these features, all that's left are some camera gimmicks ? great, it can record delightful little audio clips along with a snapshot, and use both cameras to make one single shot ? and a phone that looks a great deal like its predecessor.

Yes, my first few moments with the Galaxy S 4 were disappointing at best. But once I got past the letdown of the glitzy features, I realized that the important stuff is pretty solid.

As promised, the phone itself is a bit slimmer than the Galaxy S 3. It feels lighter, too. And it sits just right in one's hand.

And the interface! Android 4.2.2 ? better known as Jelly Bean ? is zippy. It's been a long time since a phone with Samsung's heavy skin appeared to function seemingly without lag.

I look forward to trying out the Galaxy S 4 for a prolonged period. Perhaps the touch-free gestures will work better in a "normal" environment, away from the strange lights of Radio City Music Hall, or maybe I just need some practice getting the waves and flicks down. More importantly, I hope the "usual" phone features still feel as solid as they did in these first few first moments.
