Sunny Health & Fitness Pro Indoor Cycling Bike | Gain Muscle Size

Bodybuilding March 30th, 2012

I recently purchased the Sunny Health & Fitness Pro Indoor Cycling Bike. I?ve utilised it several times and I am just very happy which i went using this type of bike.

I can?t talk about other equivalent priced bikes available on the market ($250-$500 range), but I don?t think you can not work out using this bike if you?re not looking to invest over a new $1000 with a decent spinning bike.

I?m not really a hardcore rewriter, but I?ve gone to enough tuition at different gyms to learn that this bike performs just and also $1000+ ones I?ve made use of at industrial gyms. It?s got the very same feel since those bicycles, and that?s something MY SPOUSE AND I wasn?t guaranteed I?d be in a bike that charge far much less.

Here are some bullet points to the bike:

-Quick supply.

-box was a bit torn within the corners when i received that. I propose opening the idea up and checking in it?s issue. I truly sent back the initial one I received mainly because I sensed bent metal after i reached in the torn hole. However, I thought to open up cost-free one plus discovered that the bent sheet metal was a new ?protective piece? to avoid damage on the front with the bike. Just take care when people open it just in case there may be a problem and you should tape this box ? up ? and post back!

-I?m 5?11? as well as 190 fat and I?d no trouble adjusting the particular seat plus handle bars to get to a relaxed and correct riding situation.

-the wheel spins smoothly plus the resistance will be consistent along with ample. The busting lever works great at the same time. I bought a of our resistance bike a decade ago plus it?s currently dismantled and collecting airborne dirt and dust. If you will be undecided between the two, take it from myself, go considering the ?spin class? type bike! You do not need a calorie or maybe distance counter-top.

if you don?t feel just like you?re being employed or not really sweating, you are going to know it. If you require a coronary heart rate monitor, go with one of the watch kinds?they?re far more accurate than possessing a cardiovascular exercise machine?s handlebars to get a reading.

Overall, 5 beyond 5 with this bike. I?m sure more costly ones have more possibilities or gadgets that will be useful for that hardcore spinners, but in case you are like myself and in spinning however don?t need the extras and the added cost to receive them, then select this bike.

Booking packaged travel, (all inclusive vacations) is easy... The Kelowna International Airport was host to a travel event on October 29. We were there to gauge the travelers. Mostly older people were milling about gathering information from travel agencies, air lines and tourism boards. I wasn't expecting younger people, or more precisely anyone who is computer literate . Google says two-thirds of businesses now plan their travel using search engines, with smart phone bookings rising 69% just in 2010. He added that 69% of businesses (compared to 63% of consumers) plan travel by searching the internet, visiting an average of 22 sites before deciding on a destination. Online search engines continue to dominate the travel industry with two out of three leisure travellers (66%) and 59% of business travellers using them to research travel, according to a Travelport report . Google recently reported that 64% of leisure travellers and 65% of business travellers use search engines to begin their travel planning, exemplifying just how key search marketing is. (tnooz - talking travel tech, September 2010) The world of travel planning and booking has changed with the internet, we research destinations extensively along with consumer generated reviews which I trust more than commercial marketing. We find booking tickets, including packaged vacations a 'no-brainier' and easy. We have favorite sites that we use for comparison shopping just as I wouldn't buy something in the first ...

Obamacare at Supreme Court: Healthcare Stocks ... - Investing Daily

Healthcare stocks ? as measured by the Health Care Select Sector SPDR (NYSE: XLV) ? have struggled during the first quarter of 2012, rising only 8.2% which trails the S&P 500?s 12.2% gain by almost one-third. Concerns over pharmaceutical patent cliffs and the upcoming U.S. Supreme Court ruling on the constitutionality of Obamacare have weighed on healthcare stocks. In fact, healthcare has been the third-worst-performing industry sector out of the nine sector SPDRs:

Obamacare is Unconstitutional

Why the sudden reversal of fortune in healthcare stocks? The answer lies with the U.S. Supreme Court, which held oral arguments this week in the Obamacare case. There are two major constitutional issues under review:

  1. Individual mandate requiring every U.S. citizen to buy health insurance
  2. Severability of Obamacare if individual mandate provision is struck down

Forcing the uninsured to buy insurance would be the first time in U.S. history that a U.S. citizen would be penalized for ?inactivity? ? refusing to buy something they didn?t want. Proponents of the mandate often trot out the regulatory requirement to buy auto insurance, but only people who drive a car are required to buy such insurance; drivers have taken an affirmative action to enter the car market and hence subject themselves to regulation. In contrast, people forced to buy health insurance have done nothing at all except be alive.

Consequently, the individual mandate is a gross abuse of the U.S. Constitution?s Article 1, Section 8, Clause 3 ?Commerce Clause,? which strictly limits federal regulation to commerce ?among the several states.? Ever since Congress passed the McCarran-Ferguson Act in 1945, insurance has always been regulated by the states, not the federal government.

The Supreme Court Will Likely Strike Down Obamacare

Observers of the oral argument have uniformly stated that a majority of Supreme Court justices appeared critical of the individual mandate provision and challenged the government lawyer defending the law much more harshly than they did the arguments of the contesting plaintiff lawyer. Justice Kennedy ? commonly known as the 5-4 ?swing vote? on the bench ? asked the following question of Obama?s lawyer on pages 11-12 of the transcript:

This is unprecedented, this is a step beyond what our cases have allowed, the affirmative duty to act, to go into commerce. If that is so, do you not have a heavy burden of justification?

You are changing the relation of the individual to the government in a unique way. The reason this is concerning is because it requires the individual to do an affirmative act. In the law of torts, our tradition, our law has been that you don?t have the duty to rescue someone if that person is in danger. The blind man is walking in front of a car and you do not have a duty to stop him, absent some relation between you.

Based on academic research, the Supreme Court has historically been much more likely to rule against the side it asks more questions of during oral arguments. A ?state of the art? model based on oral-argument language and tone predicts that the Supreme Court will declare the individual mandate unconstitutional by a slim 5-4 margin.

Obamacare is highly unpopular with the American people. In a recent poll, 75 percent of Americans wanted the Supreme Court to strike it down.? Ironically, even Obama opposed an individual mandate during the 2008 presidential campaign before doing a 180-degree flip-flop once he was elected president. On the other hand, the public overwhelmingly supports barring insurance companies from denying health coverage based on a pre-existing condition by an 85-15 margin.

Pre-Existing Condition Protection Doesn?t Work Without Individual Mandate

The problem is that you can?t have one without the other without destroying the profitability of insurance companies. Absent an individual mandate, the result will be ?adverse selection,? whereby healthy people will opt out of the insurance program while sick people will enroll. A profitable insurance market is based on uncertainty where more people pay into the system than is paid out in claims.? If the only people who enroll are those who are certain to make reimbursement claims based on pre-existing conditions, insurers will end up losing money because the government-regulated insurance premiums won?t be sufficient to cover all of the claims. In their 11th-Circuit Court of Appeals brief (page 30), Obama?s own lawyers have cited Princeton University professor Uwe Reinhardt for the proposition that:

It is well known that guaranteed issue coupled with voluntary insurance tend to lead to a death spiral of individual insurance.

For this reason, the Obama administration has argued that requiring insurance companies to accept pre-existing conditions should not survive if the individual mandate is struck down.

Obamacare Will Be Upheld or Struck Down in Its Entirety ? No Severability

On the third day of oral argument, the issue of severability was debated and my reading of the transcript leads me to believe that many of the justices believe that Obamacare must be struck down in its entirety if the individual mandate is struck down. For example, on page 41 of the transcript Justice Alito asked the best question:

Insurance reforms impose 10-year costs of roughly $700 billion on the insurance industry, and that these costs are supposed to be offset by about 350 billion in new revenue from the individual mandate and 350 billion from the Medicaid expansion. Now if the 350 billion from the individual mandate were to be lost, what would happen to the insurance industry, which would now be in the hole for $350 billion over 10 years?

In Healthcare Reform: the $700 billion Lie, I argued that the cost of Obamacare will be much greater than advertised, but even taking that understated number at face value greatly concerned swing vote Justice Kennedy, who exhibited sympathy for Alito?s question. Kennedy asked a follow-up question on pages 42-43 of the transcript:

I still don?t understand where you are with the answer to Justice Alito?s question. Assume that there is a substantial probability that the 700 billion is going to be cut in half if the individual mandate is stricken. Assume there is a significant possibility of that. Is it within the proper exercise of this Court?s function to impose that kind of risk [on the insurance industry]? Can we say that the Congress would have intended that there be that kind of risk?

I think the reason healthcare stocks have rallied so strongly this week is because investors have concluded that the entire Obamacare monstrosity is going to be struck down ? not just the individual mandate, but also the requirement to enroll people with pre-existing conditions, the expansion of Medicaid, and the medical loss ratio minimums that limit insurance company profits to 20% of insurance premiums collected.

Healthcare Stocks Look Like a Buy

Bottom line: healthcare insurers were going to do fine under Obamacare because the individual mandate and Medicaid expansion requirements promised to greatly increase industry revenues and counteract the pre-existing condition and medical loss ratio cost burdens. Similarly, healthcare insurers will do fine if Obamacare is struck down because free markets allow companies to generate profits unrestricted.

The only scenario where healthcare insurers were going to be hurt badly was if the individual mandate was struck down but the pre-existing condition and medical loss ratio provisions remained (i.e., severability). Since severability is almost certainly off the table given what transpired this week during the U.S. Supreme Court?s oral argument, investors have a ?green light? to invest in healthcare stocks regardless of whether Obamacare is upheld in its entirety or struck down in its entirety.

?All or nothing? ? the key to healthcare profitability ? appears assured.

Movie sleepers | Arts & Entertainment | South Philly Review

Batman and Spider-Man had better watch their backs ? these potential hits are ready to steal away audiences.

With ?The Hunger Games? having just enjoyed one of the biggest opening weekends ever (it pulled in a whopping $155 million domestically), Hollywood proved that tentpole films don?t have to be released in the summer. But that doesn?t mean the warmer seasons aren?t still the chief sources for soon-to-be blockbusters ? the usual mega-budget genre fare and effects extravaganzas. This spring and summer will see the releases of ?The Avengers,? ?Men in Black III,? ?Prometheus,? ?The Amazing Spider-Man,? and ?The Dark Knight Rises,? to name a few.

But what about the underdogs? For every Batman installment, there?s a modestly budgeted dramedy ready to court its own audience. The buzz-builders of 2011 included ?Midnight in Paris? and ?Bridesmaids.? Here?s what could follow suit in ?12:

?

High School

(April 20)

Never underestimate a good stoner comedy. ?High School? is the feature debut of filmmaker John Stalberg, Jr., and it features Adrien Brody as Psycho Ed, an extreme pothead who, in aiding a high school valedictorian, strives to intoxicate every student. Early buzz out of Sundance is overwhelmingly positive, and the film could prove to have crossover between critics and the key demographic of young men.

LOL

(May 4)

A remake of a ?08 French film, ?LOL? promises to be an ultra-contemporary coming-of-age flick, with Miley Cyrus sowing her oats as a young girl coping with break-ups and mommy issues. Squarely targeted at the texting generation, the film also stars ?Twilight? alum Ashley Greene, and it?s backed by new ?Hunger Games? super-studio, Lionsgate. If nothing else, fans will want to catch Cyrus behaving badly, in the film that cut pot-smoking scenes after related video of the starlet circulated two years back.

The Dictator

(May 11)

The third film from cha-meleonic provocateur Sacha Baron Cohen, ?The Dictator? is reportedly inspired by Saddam Hussein?s novel ?Zabibah and the King,? and features Baron Cohen as Admiral General Aladeen, a leader ?heroically? saving his people from democracy. Directed by ?Borat? and ?Br?no? helmer Larry Charles, ?The Dictator? offers another edition of its star?s gonzo, subversive brand, and its political nature may just push the right box office buttons.

Bachelorette

(June 1)

?

Following in the footsteps of ?Bridesmaids? is ?Bachelorette,? another wedding-themed femme comedy about three mean girls (Kirsten Dunst, Isla Fisher and Lizzy Caplan) taking on wedding-party duties for the engaged frenemy (Rebel Wilson) they tortured in high school. Written and directed by Leslye Headland and produced by Will Ferrell, the vicious indie is bound to thrive on word of mouth.

Bel Ami

(June 8)

What to look for in Rugby Headguards

Rugby is an intense contact sport that can get dangerous unless you are prepared for the collisions, tackling and running. The game is aggressive by nature, leaving every opportunity for injury. Rugby players build up their physique to handle this pressure on the field but protective gear can certainly minimise the damage from injuries. Rugby headguards, gloves, mouth guards, body armour and arm guards are designed for the protection of the player during the game. Out of these, rugby headguards take a prominent place in their role. Head injury is common in rugby, especially during scrums and therefore rugby headguards are also called scrum caps. They prevent serious injury to a player?s ears and head. Some of these injuries can lead to cauliflower ears, a permanent deformation and damage to ears. These also act as shock absorbers.

Rugby headguards are padded cloth caps that cover the ears and head.

Recently developed scrum caps provide cushioning to blows, flexibility, ventilation, comfort, proper air circulation and optimum protection. These are lightweight and designed with IRB approved specifications. One of the most important aspects of choosing headgear is your comfort level with each brand. Rugby headguards are made by Adidas, Kooga, Samurai, Canterbury and Optimum. These are recommended and recognised brands for headgear in rugby. Make sure the headgear you buy is approved by the International Rugby Board, as only they can be worn in games. The IRB logo on the caps usually indicates the certification. A close-fitting is essential to keep the headguard in place without slippage and visual obstruction. Ventilation is a key element that needs to be supported by rugby headguards. If the headgear is making you uncomfortable with heat and sweat, it can cause other complications for the player. Proper air circulation keeps your ears and head cool and comfortable without hindering audibility.

Since rugby headguards are prone for microbial growth that can cause skin allergies, itching and health hazards; look for headgear with antimicrobial properties. Try the scrum cap before purchasing to see how well it fits you. Make sure it can be securely fitted and stays fitted. Effective moisture managing material used in headgear help keeps your clammy-free. Flexibility of the material too can help create a better fit. Designs that provide cranial comfort are easier to wear for prolonged periods. Rugby headguards should be re-purchased once their impact absorption has worn away.

    Replacement Auto-Repair Parts

Consumers are being confused by auto news stories stating that competitive replacement auto parts are substandard products. Replacement parts are an economic issue. Carmakers charge a premium price for consumers to use just their parts. Body shop owners feel that the carmakers are trying to create a monopoly on auto parts so the prices will go up even higher. Having competitors selling auto repair parts will make carmakers sell parts at a more reasonable price.?Insurers want their customers to get good deals when having repairs done. It helps keep down the cost of insurance for their customers. If carmakers were the only ones allowed to service consumers and auto repair shops with parts then the price of those parts would be extremely high in cost.

Pope addresses throngs in Havana, urges freedoms for Church

HAVANA (Reuters) - Pope Benedict, speaking from Cuba's biggest stage, urged Cubans on Wednesday to search for "authentic freedom" as their country changes and pressed the island's communist government to give the Catholic Church more liberties, including the right to teach religion in schools and run universities.

The 84-year-old pope celebrated an open-air Mass for some 300,000 people in Havana's Revolution Square, the centerpiece of a trip that began with a blast at communism and will end with a visit with Fidel Castro.

Crowds began gathering during the night to hear the leader of the world's 1.2 billon Catholics speak in the sprawling plaza that Castro, 85, used to fill with big crowds and fiery revolutionary rhetoric in hours-long speeches.

Surrounded by ten-story high images of Castro's revolutionary comrades Ernesto "Che" Guevara and Camilo Cienfuegos, the pope read a sermon that continued one of the main themes of his trip - that Cuba should build a more open society, based on truth, justice and reconciliation.

"The truth is a desire of the human person, the search for which always supposes the exercise of authentic freedom," he said.

In an apparent dig at Marxism, the pope also said some "wrongly interpret this search for the truth, leading them to irrationality and fanaticism; they close themselves in 'their truth,' and try to impose it on others."

Hours before the Mass began, the area was filled with people waving Cuban flags and wearing broad hats and holding umbrellas to shield them from the sun. They wildly welcomed the successor of the much-beloved Pope John Paul, who made a historic, groundbreaking trip to Cuba in 1998 and preached from the same square.

Benedict, wearing purple vestments, read out a virtual shopping list of rights the Church still lacked in Cuba as President Raul Castro, Fidel's younger brother, sat in the front row. Both of the Castro brothers were educated by Jesuits, the worldwide Catholic order.

"To carry out this duty, she must count on basic religious freedom, which consists in her being able to proclaim and to celebrate her faith also in public, bringing to others the message of love, reconciliation and peace which Jesus brought to the world," he said.

While Benedict acknowledged "with joy" the great improvements since John Paul's visit, he added: "Nonetheless, this must continue forwards, and I wish to encourage the country's government authorities to strengthen what has already been achieved and advance along this path of genuine service to the true good of Cuban society as a whole."

The faithful could be "at once a citizen and a believer", the pope assured the government, adding that strengthening religious freedom consolidates social bonds and lays the groundwork for securing the rights of future generations.

"This is why the Church seeks to give witness by her preaching and teaching, both in catechesis and in schools and universities," he said.

Since his arrival in the eastern city of Santiago, the pontiff has spoken of Cuba's need for reconciliation and a more open society, with the Church at its side as a buffer against "trauma" or social upheaval.

"We hope he brings peace, and to wars, and an end to the US embargo," said Belkis Martin Rodriguez, 49, walking to Revolution Square dressed in jean shorts, with her mother and 8-year-old son.

Asked if she hoped the visit would bring reconciliation between the communist government, dissidents and exiles in Miami, she said: "Let each remain in their own place. If people left for Miami, let them stay there and be happy. Let the Church stick to its own field, religion, and let the government handle the politics."

In talks on Tuesday with Raul Castro, the pope urged a bigger role for the Church and asked that the government consider making Good Friday, the day Christians commemorate Christ's death, a national holiday. Good Friday is less than two weeks away.

Fidel Castro reinstated Christmas as a holiday ahead of the landmark visit of John Paul that helped improve long-strained Church-state relations.

The Vatican during Tuesday's meetings also made several "humanitarian requests," without giving details but possibly having to do with political prisoners or jailed American contractor Alan Gross, who is serving a 15-year sentence for illegally installing Internet networks on the communist-run island.

    FIDEL MEETING POPE

Fidel Castro said on Tuesday in one of his columns, or "Reflections," published on the Internet that he would meet briefly with the German pope before he returns to Rome.

"With pleasure, I will greet His Excellency Pope Benedict XVI as I did with John Paul II," wrote Castro, who is now mostly retired but still occasionally writes columns and meets with visiting leaders.

He said he decided to request "a few minutes of his very occupied time when I learned from the mouth of our Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez that modest and simple contact would please (the Pope)," Castro said.

The meeting of two octogenarian world figures with widely divergent political views would be another high point in what has been a more eventful papal trip than many had expected.

At a time when Church-state relations are the warmest they've been since the 1959 revolution, Benedict has not been afraid to poke the Cuban government in some sensitive places.

On the flight to Mexico beginning his trip on Friday, the pope said communism "does not correspond with reality" and that Cuba needs a new economic model.

Upon his arrival, he made thinly-veiled references to Cuban dissidents, political prisoners, Cuban exiles and asked the island's patron saint, the Virgin of Charity of El Cobre, "to guide the future of this beloved nation in the ways of justice, peace, freedom and reconciliation."

His Monday evening mass in Santiago began with a man in the crowd shouting "down with communism" and being hustled off by security agents.

President Castro has launched economic changes aimed at strengthening communism for the future, but Marino Murillo, a vice president in the Council of Ministers and the country's economic reforms czar, made it clear that change to Cuba's one-party political system is not in the works.

"In Cuba there won't be political reform," he said at a news conference at Havana's Hotel Nacional, the international press center for the pope visit. "We are talking about the update of the Cuban economic model to make our socialism sustainable."

Murillo said the government welcomed all ideas, but would not allow them to be imposed on the country.

In response, Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi said "the Church is not trying to impose solutions. We know it is a long road and that the history of Cuba is complex."

Paperless Faxing: How to Get Started | My Green Living Ideas

Unprecedented technological progress has made the environmentalist?aspiration of the ?paperless office? an actualized?reality, in the business world.?Today, whatever your?business, you?have?the practical and affordable ability to bring a formative?eco-consciousness into routine office operations,?by going paperless with online faxing!

    What is??Paperless? Faxing?

To effectively transition from traditional to paperless faxing, you should first understand the concept of a ?paperless office,? and specifically what faxing sans paper entails. What IS this ?paperless? trend anyway?
The term??paperless? refers to any kind of work that customarily used or was accomplished with paper, but has been adapted for compatibility, with new information and communications technologies.
Correspondingly, a??paperless office? is a work environment in which paper use and dependency has been greatly reduced?by converting documents into digital form. Indeed,??paperless? is now used interchangeably with terms like digital, electronic and online, and?to represent the progressive movement to make eco-conscious practices?a fact?of everyday office environments.
?Paperless faxing? is today?s foremost embodiment in applied practice of this movement?s workplace integration, of technology and environmentalism. Paperless faxing is essentially online faxing, ?online fax services? empower businesses to use existing web connections and email systems. Online faxing helps send and receive the entire document facsimile communications as digital file attachments,?ready-to-read anytime and anywhere.

    Double Green Motivation

A fundamental step in getting started with paperless communications is becoming motivated to do it?properly and consistently. Launching a voluntary process of change requires confidence that its benefits outweigh any potential negatives.
Happily, as to paperless faxing specifically, all the motivation you need is all but mustered for you. The?advantages of switching to online fax services are many, universal, automatic, immediate and proven?both for your business, and the environment at large.
The fact is that traditional landline fax machines enact a demonstrably heavy toll, again, both for your business and the environment. Faxing the traditional way generates staggering amounts of waste: it burns through paper, energy and natural resources, and it accumulates untold costs on your budget, resources, time and efficiency.

Switching to online fax services eradicate this waste across-the-board. Paperless faxing saves you money, space and time, boosts productivity, facilitates documentation and information-sharing, and enhances security. And, by the switch?s very nature, you?ll do the environment a real ongoing solid.
Now that?s motivation! A meaningfully green decision replete with full cost/benefit rewards for you.

    Choosing Your Service

Finally, your decision to go paperless confidently made, it?s time to choose your online fax service provider.
Multiple targeted resources have been developed precisely, to aid businesses in transitioning from traditional to online faxing.?Most critically, top online fax service providers offer free trials for test-driving their services for optimal compatibility with your needs and priorities. These trials effectively complete your transition to paperless in practice.
Users of online fax services from Metrofax, for example, are privileged to 30 risk-free days in which Metrofax literally guides you through its every digitized process, provided for greatest ease in paperless fax communications.

    Insurance Mandate Faces Tough Questions

    March 27, 2012

"With the fate of President Obama's health care law hanging in the balance at the Supreme Court on Tuesday, a lawyer for the administration faced a barrage of skeptical questions from four of the court's more conservative justices," the New York Times reports.

Wall Street Journal: "The most worrisome remarks for the plaintiffs--the side arguing against the Obama health law--came from Justice Kennedy, who wavered over the claim that when it came to health care, a bright line could be drawn between those engaged in commerce by buying insurance and whose wholly outside the market by declining to do so."

SCOTUSblog: "If Justice Anthony M. Kennedy can locate a limiting principle in the federal government's defense of the new individual health insurance mandate, or can think of one on his own, the mandate may well survive. If he does, he may take Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr., and a majority along with him. But if he does not, the mandate is gone."

A political tip sheet for the rest of us outside the Washington Beltway, for Monday, March 26:

    DAY'S DEVELOPMENTS

HEAR YE: The Supreme Court opened three days of debate over the fate of President Barack Obama's overhaul of the nation's health care system. Eight of the nine justices eagerly questioned lawyers about whether the case has been brought prematurely because a 19th century law bars tax disputes from being heard in the courts before the taxes have been paid. Under the law, taxpayers who don't buy health insurance would have to report that on their 2014 tax returns and then pay a penalty along with federal income tax on returns due by April 2015. Among the issues is whether that penalty is a tax. A decision is expected by late June, during a presidential campaign in which all of Obama's Republican challengers oppose the law and have promised to repeal it, if elected, if the high court doesn't strike it down for them.

SANTORUM'S ARGUMENT: As the justices entertained arguments inside, Rick Santorum showed up outside the high court to argue his own case: that he ? not front-runner Mitt Romney ? is the best Republican candidate to challenge Obama in the fall, particularly over the issue of health care. Santorum says Romney is essentially disqualified from becoming the GOP standard-bearer because he enacted a similar health care law in Massachusetts when he was governor, including an identical requirement that all residents buy health insurance or pay a penalty.

OBAMA'S VISITORS: Obama is using access to one of America's most famous homes to reward his most generous financial supporters. An Associated Press review has found that more than 60 of his biggest campaign donors have made repeat visits to the White House for meetings with top advisers, holiday parties or state dinners. The invitations, which are a legal and established practice of presidents, came despite Obama's past criticism of Washington's pay-for-access culture. The AP's review compared more than 470 of Obama's most important financial supporters against logs of 2 million visitors to the White House since mid-2009. It found that at least 250 of Obama's major fundraisers and donors were granted access for dinners or meetings with senior advisers. And this month, more than 30 top fundraisers attended an elaborate state dinner in a massive tent on the South Lawn.

NEWT'S PLAN FOR WISCONSIN: Gingrich's plan for winning the April 3 primary in Wisconsin rests, in part, on his wife, Callista. He sent her back to her native state ? she was born in Whitehall, near the border with Minnesota ? for a weeklong, solo campaign swing. Her schedule includes at least nine stops through Thursday, including visits to at least four elementary schools, speeches to a local Chamber of Commerce and a college Republican group, and a hospital visit. She'll also play host at a "Cocktails with Callista" event, and read her children's book, "Sweet Land of Liberty," at a Catholic grade school. Gingrich trails Romney and Santorum, but he insists he will stay in the race until what could be the bitter end.

ROMNEY'S MONEY: Feeling secure with his standing in the GOP race, Romney is taking more time off from active campaigning this week to focus on restocking his campaign war chest to compete against Santorum in the contests to come. Romney was in California on Monday, and while there planned to hold at least five separate fundraisers over two days with deep-pocketed donors, including Hewlett-Packard CEO Meg Whitman and former California Gov. Pete Wilson. He'll also show up on "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno on Tuesday, his first appearance there since 2010.

PRIMARY LULL: The GOP race entered a brief hiatus after Louisiana's primary, the final contest for March. The next round won't take place until April 3, when Maryland and the District of Columbia hold primaries. Santorum is not on the D.C. ballot. Those two contests will be followed by a big day of voting on April 24 that includes contests in Connecticut, Delaware, New York, Santorum's home state of Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island.

    AP DELEGATE TRACKER:

Romney may have lost big in Louisiana over the weekend but his resounding defeat by Rick Santorum did little to alter the standings in the race for delegates to the Republican National Convention in late August. Santorum won most of Louisiana's delegates, but Romney picked up some, too, and still maintains a more than 2-to-1 advantage over the former Pennsylvania senator. It takes 1,144 delegates to become the party's nominee for president. The latest totals after Louisiana:

? Mitt Romney: 568 (gained five delegates in Louisiana)

? Rick Santorum: 273 (picked up 10 delegates in Louisiana)

    ? Newt Gingrich: 135

    ? Ron Paul: 50

    WHERE THEY'LL BE TUESDAY:

    ? Gingrich: Maryland.

    ? Paul: Not campaigning.

    ? Romney: California.

    ? Santorum: Wisconsin.

    ? Obama: South Korea.

    IN THEIR WORDS:

? "If you really want Obamacare repealed, there's only one person who can make that happen." ? Santorum, talking about himself.

? "This is my last election. After my election, I have more flexibility." ? Obama, to outgoing Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, on the issue of missile defense.

? "President Obama signaled that he's going to cave to Russia on missile defense, but the American people have a right to know where else he plans to be 'flexible' in a second term." ? Romney.

? "There's no obligation to concede it to him. If he can win it, more power to him. If he doesn't win it, then June and July and August become very interesting months." ? Gingrich, on staying in the race no matter what.

Home Improvement Ideas to make it Easier to Sell Your Home ...

What you are about to read is an authoritative article on Holmes Air Purifiers, and we urge you to verify it just so you will find out, first hand. The sheer volume of searches performed net wide means lots of other people also have a need to know more.

Who knows, maybe you would prefer to learn a little and then seek the assistance of others, perhaps more directly. Whenever we have a need in this area, to take care of anything that needs it, then we simply turn our own attention to the matter.

Nevertheless, you are about to read and learn more, and then you can explore those points and strategies that apply to your situation the most.

As you read along, we think you will have a better picture of what can be done.

You can have a better chance at a higher price, as well as an actual buyer if you make sure to do the right home improvement tasks before you get ready to sell your home. It is essential to be true to yourself and really figure out which items need to be traded out, cleaned up or repaired. Both big and little changed could be necessary, and what follows are some rules to bear in mind when thinking about the projects that are worth your time and money.

So much of the time, painting your house is one of the simplest and the most sensible home improvement projects that you can take on. If you haven?t painted your house in a few years, you?ve probably gotten used to how it looks. The truth, however, is that a house with a fresh coat of paint makes a much better on the buyers who are all shopping for new homes. Painting the exterior of your house is one of the most important things to think about but painting the interior of your house is also sometimes a good idea. Pick colors that are neutral and that most people will find pleasing. If you want to make sure that you get the very best paint job possible, you should hire a professional painter instead of trying to do the job on your own.

You want to make sure that the improvements you make are not just to your own taste, particularly if your own taste is a little bit off beat. It?s perfectly okay to really enjoy decorating your home in the style of Victorian England or feudal Japan but it is important to remind yourself that not everyone shares your personal taste.

When you do all of your decorating in just one style you can lower the overall appeal of your home. When you?re selling your home, you should keep its style as neutral as you can. The same goes for painting your home in either very bright or unconventional colors. You want your home to be as attractive as you can make it for as many buyers as possible.

If you really want to sell your home fast, you need to focus on one particular room in your house ? the kitchen. Your kitchen needs to look absolutely pristine when you are selling your home to another person. To make your kitchen look new, you might have to buy new cabinets, drapery, and appliances that are sitting on your counter. It is important to do what you can, but not do too much or go over budget. You can actually scare buyers off by upgrading your kitchen too much as they will actually begin to think that the house itself is too expensive and that they need to look for something else. The same is true for the bathroom. You want everything to be in good working order, of course, but you don?t have to have a bath or shower that looks like it belongs in a high end spa.

Rushing out and making every single comprehensible repair or improvement to your home possible is a bad idea. You need to be vigilant when figuring out the upfront cost for increasing the value of your home and how much each project will actually make for you. Prior to placing your home on the market, you can consider the recommendations we covered in this article when you are trying to determine which home improvements projects are a good idea.

Govt finds airwaves for possible wireless data

(AP) ? The federal government has identified a large block of airwaves that can be freed to meet growing demand for movies, games and other data-intensive activities on smartphones and other mobile devices.

Wireless and technology companies have been clamoring for more spectrum. The 95 megahertz-wide band identified by the Commerce Department can support at least two new national wireless data networks.

But first, the government will have to find new homes for the agencies currently using that spectrum. That could involve sharing arrangements.

The government could spend as much as $18 billion over 10 years moving current users of the spectrum to new locations on the airwaves. The government said Tuesday that it hopes to make up for it by auctioning that spectrum to companies.

    ScienceOnline2012 interview with Chuck Bangley

Every year I ask some of the attendees of the ScienceOnline conferences to tell me (and my readers) more about themselves, their careers, current projects and their views on the use of the Web in science, science education or science communication. So now we continue with the participants of ScienceOnline2012. See all the interviews in this series here.

Today my guest is Chuck Bangley (blog, Twitter).

Welcome to A Blog Around The Clock. Would you, please, tell my readers a little bit more about yourself? Where are you coming from (both geographically and philosophically)? What is your background? Any scientific education?

Like a lot of us in the Carolinas, I?m a transplanted Northerner.? I grew up in the great state of Rhode Island, spent some time in Vermont, and then went back to RI where I got my B.S. in marine biology at URI.? I worked in an environmental testing lab for a bit after graduation, then had an internship with the Rhode Island state Marine Fisheries Division before budget cuts sent me south for grad school.? I joined up with the Rulifson lab at East Carolina University, where I finished off my M.S. in Biology and am now working on a PhD in Coastal Resource Management.? Basically I never grew out of my childhood shark phase and my main research interest is interactions between marine apex predators and fisheries.

Tell us a little more about your career trajectory so far: interesting projects past and present?

I?ve had the good luck to have a little experience in all three angles of fisheries research.? I got an inside view of fisheries management in Rhode Island that gave me perspective on how difficult a job that can be.? I?ve been on the academic side of it through grad school, and our lab works extensively with commercial fishermen, so I get to talk to them and get their side of the story as well.? So that?s been pretty valuable.

My Master?s work was on the feeding habits of spiny dogfish overwintering off of North Carolina, which allowed me to experiment with a non-lethal method of collecting shark gut contents and get into a little predator-prey theory.? I?ve also been involved in some other dogfish projects using acoustic telemetry, which has let me do some of the cool stuff I used to be amazed by on the Discovery Channel growing up.? Currently I?m putting together a project using a combination of fishery surveys and acoustic tracking to identify shark nurseries within the North Carolina sounds.

What is taking up the most of your time and passion these days? What are your goals?

Right now securing time, gear, and funding for that shark nursery project is keeping me busy (and up at night).? I?m still in the middle of taking classes for the PhD program as well, which takes up a lot of free time.? I?m on track to begin some pilot studies in the field this summer, so if anyone wants some (unpaid) experience working with sharks in lovely North Carolina?

What aspect of science communication and/or particular use of the Web in science interests you the most?

This is probably the really obvious answer that everyone gives, but outreach is a great benefit of your research out there online.? I?ve had people I?ve never met at conferences come up and ask me about things they saw on the blog, which is still a really surreal experience every time it happens.? It?s also put me in this community of scientists and general science fans that I would have never even been aware of otherwise.? In some ways it?s made it easier to set up new projects, because there?s this record of things I?ve done that?s out there way before any of it gets published.? But overall I?d say the people you make connections with is probably the most valuable aspect of communicating science online.

How does (if it does) blogging figure in your work? How about social networks, e.g., Twitter, Google Plus and Facebook? Do you find all this online activity to be a net positive (or even a necessity) in what you do?

Ya Like Dags? was what got me into this, and I use Twitter basically as a complement to the blog.? I do have a Facebook page, but I use that more for personal stuff so there?s really not much there.? I?ve only really scratched the surface with Google+; I have a page on there but I really only post links to new posts on the blog.? I really haven?t found the need to sit on G+ and check out posts the way I do sometimes on Twitter.? One thing Twitter has affected is the quantity (and maybe quality) of posts on the blog: where I used to have posts made up of just links on the blog, now I can just instantly make people aware of things I stumble across that are neat on Twitter.? So the overall number of posts have gone down, but the posts are all actual content now (no offense to bloggers who put out a lot of link posts).? Overall I think it?s been a net positive, and at some points I?m pretty sure the Twitter feed gets more attention than the blog.

When and how did you first discover science blogs? What are some of your favourites? Have you discovered any cool science blogs by the participants at the Conference?

Deep Sea News and Pharyngula were probably my gateway drugs into science blogs, and of course Southern Friend Science followed very quickly after them.? By seeing what other blogs those would link to, I was able to see just how big this community is and discover new blogs to read.? I started out just leaving some comments on DSN and SFS, and then I did some guest posts for my friend Matt on his Marine Music blog, which lead to me actually meeting Kevin and Andrew in real life and starting my own.? So marine blogs figure pretty heavily into the ?science blogs? list of bookmarks.? Obviously I have to shout-out the other blogs on the Southern Fried network, and I think we?ve done a good job getting a lot of quality content on there.? Christie always has some really insightful posts (now at Science Sushi) and SeaMonster has a really cool mix of science and general ocean interest that I really think helps show scientists as ?real people.?? Tetrapod Zoology is always a fun read because you can tell Darren has a blast writing his posts, which makes reading about a subject as potentially bland as taxonomy really enjoyable.? Some non-science ocean blogs I really enjoy include The Dented Bucket, which captures the more artistic side of commercial fishing really well, and some of the blogs about shark ecotourism (Underwater Thrills and Da Shark in particular).? I met some pretty awesome people who write outside of my discipline at Science Online, though PsySociety stands out both for having some great writing about psychology and for being able to hang with the ocean bloggers.

What was the best aspect of ScienceOnline2012 for you? Any suggestions for next year? Is there anything that happened at this Conference ? a session, something someone said or did or wrote ? that will change the way you think about science communication, or something that you will take with you to your job, blog-reading and blog-writing?

Honestly, ScienceOnline 2012 was probably the most well-run conference I?ve ever been to.? The venue was great, lots of opportunities for good conversation, and the only free lunch I?ve ever seen at a conference.? ScienceOnline was so smooth that it actually made me mad at other conferences I go to regularly for the way they?re run.? I think the way SciO really facilitates conversation, both through the ?unconference? format and having plenty of places to sit and chat, is probably the best reason to go.? And it doesn?t shy away from the tough conversations either.? With all conferences the networking is really the best reason to go, and SciO acknowledges that and does a great job making it the main focus.? I really wouldn?t change a thing, and I?m excited for next year?s already.

Thank you for the interview. Hope to see you next year!

Online Marketing Tips For A More Successful Web Based Business

Having a web based business is a good way of earning extra income, or gaining major profit. For your online biz to become successful, however, you need to learn how you can attract more clients. There are several online marketing tips that you can utilize that will help you in this task. Here are some of them:

    Determine your target market/audience

An Internet marketing solution that is usually forgotten by many biz owners and Web marketers is the importance of knowing the target audience. Before even starting a biz over the World Wide Web, you should have a very clear idea of who your market will be. For example, if your web based business focuses on plants for sale, determine who?ll be interested in your plants e.g. gardeners, florists, home owners? By really knowing the groups of people who actually make up your target market, you?ll be able to attract more clients, specifically targeted clients.

    Understand your chosen niche well

For online marketing tips to work, it is also a must that you know a lot about the niche. You should be interested in your niche, or be an expert on it. If you don?t know much about a specific niche, or you have no interest in the products or the services that fall under a certain niche, your very own web based business will not thrive well. An internet marketing solution, therefore, that you should apply is to thoroughly understand your preferred niche first before even starting a business.

    Utilize e mail marketing

Making use of this strategy: email marketing, is also one of the best online marketing tips that can help Web biz owners attract more clients. By sending emails to potential customers about your existing products, newly introduced products, and the likes, you get the chance to try convincing them that your services or your products are worth checking out. E-mail marketing is also a form of follow up, but you have to remember to avoid spamming, and only send emails to people every week, every other week, etc, and not more than those times, unless you wish to drive potential clients away. Just imagine, if you receive mail from a company or an Internet marketer every day, would you be pleased? You wouldn?t, right?

Post relevant articles to various Web directories

Another Internet marketing solution that is included in the list of important online marketing tips is to utilize article marketing. You can actually attract more clients by writing niche-related articles, and then, submitting them to many article directories. You just have to remember to include links to your site so that interested readers can click on those links and be taken directly to your biz site. Article marketing is really one of the techniques that contribute a lot to the success of a web based business.

Blogging, offering freebies and discounts, link building, having contests, and so on, are other techniques of gaining targeted traffic into your web site. By actually putting into practice the online marketing tips shared in this piece, you?ll find it less complicated to earn more from your Internet biz.
