News and Society -Crime News Blog: How to Avoid Violence ...

It is interesting to note how an online search for the word "violence" also brings up words like "intimate," or "spousal." Nonetheless, it appears that many crimes committed by males are directed toward women.

Quite often, a male who is hurt emotionally, may tend to express his hidden feelings of rage, discontentment, or anger against a female. Upon deeper inspection of such unseen motives, one can additionally discover that a woman within the perpetrator's life may exist or has formerly existed as the source of his continued negative expression.

With the high expectation for peaceful existence in American society, it is almost ALWAYS quite shocking to learn that a member of society experiences abusive behavior, and especially, becomes the target of male on female assault.

Crimes against women normally take place, of course, without the slightest ADVANCE cue that the male perpetrator might ever go so far. However, even more surprising are events wherein adult men direct violent behavior against children, adolescents, and productive/supportive young members of the upcoming community.

For instance, one case in point is the recent world news story from the Los Angeles Times, in which seven young persons were shot to death within an Oakland, California Christian school environment. At least four of the deceased are already confirmed to be female.

Almost no member of a caring and humane American society would wish to read such details about crime in society, especially female assault, or to prolong them. However, average citizens may benefit highly from the acute awareness that lives can be endangered or threatened by unsuspected violence against females.

In other words, without knowing fully well the background, character, and former experiences of acquaintances, associates, co-workers, hired hands, or even loved ones themselves, the possibility of unprovoked assault remains present. Current crimes against women, female adolescents, and young girls comprises a particularly challenging issue.

Police officers and investigative specialists often have their hands full -- as other types of crime in society are slightly easier to detect and prevent. Yet, the nature of violence against females is further complicated by the fact that sometimes such crimes are committed by those who are already familiar or involved -- even by a loved one, for example.

Perhaps some of the facts presented within this writing can cause the reader to feel somewhat powerless. Nonetheless, there are wise alternatives and practical steps which a female can and SHOULD engage.

In order to prevent unprovoked female assault, in general, a lady should nearly ALWAYS place personal safety precautions on a level of high priority. Yet, unique to this particular writing is the idea that some men may focus their displaced passions upon unsuspecting female associates.

In that light, the very BEST precaution is knowing your male associates as well as possible. Even beyond issues such as background checks or character investigation... the most important criteria is the time you spend in a state of "enlightened observation."

This means that often ladies and men may mutually turn a blind eye toward possible ulterior motives or likely signs that ill-will may already be, or soon become present.

Surely, it is a difficult assignment to complete; yet, some measure of caution must be set in place -- both for the mutual benefit of men and women in American society.
