Consumers are being confused by auto news stories stating that competitive replacement auto parts are substandard products. Replacement parts are an economic issue. Carmakers charge a premium price for consumers to use just their parts. Body shop owners feel that the carmakers are trying to create a monopoly on auto parts so the prices will go up even higher. Having competitors selling auto repair parts will make carmakers sell parts at a more reasonable price.?Insurers want their customers to get good deals when having repairs done. It helps keep down the cost of insurance for their customers. If carmakers were the only ones allowed to service consumers and auto repair shops with parts then the price of those parts would be extremely high in cost.
