Hey! Great news. The new Dacia Sandero American Lawyer?s Global 100 is out right now and from the looks of things, we might be en route to a pretty good recovery. Revenues have jumped 7% across the board, attorney headcount has risen, and even profit per partner has increased. Not bad for a world deep in economic malaise.
Topping the revenue list for the 3rd year in a row is international powerhouse Baker & McKenzie, who raked in a staggering $2.313 billion while in 2nd place is we have DLA Piper, who earned a massive $2.247 billion to knock Skadden (who grossed $2.165 billion) down to 3rd. Rounding up the top 5 we have Latham & Watkins with $2.152 billion, and Clifford Chance with $2.09 billion.
Here?s a screenshot of the top ten:
On the profits per partner side, Watchell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz took the #1 spot with a staggering $4.460 million for their 78 partners. In 2nd place is Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, whose 111 partners get $4.160 million, while rounding up the top 3 is Sullivan & Cromwell, who has $3.22 million for their 171 equity partners. It?s interesting to note that Kirkland & Ellis, sitting at 6th place, has a whopping $3.05 million for their 305 equity partners. That?s some serious numbers right there.
Top 3 for attorney headcount meanwhile is Baker & McKenzie with 4,004 lawyers, 3,746 for DLA, while Clifford Chance has 2,518. Mostly up from last year.
What do you think monkeys? Does this mean we have nothing but blue skies ahead of us? I kinda think so, any growth on the top should be reflected by the smaller firms, so if this keeps up, we just might have a lot of good years ahead of us. Thoughts?
