Louisville Cardinal big threat running back Senorise Perry has been selected as the Big East Offensive Player of the Week. His four touchdown explosion Saturday against Pittsburgh lead to the honor. The Cards won that game 45-35.
The junior is the first Cardinal to score four touchdowns in a game since Michael Bush did it in a losing overtime effort in 2005. Perry runs as part of a 2 pronged running attack with teammate Jeremy Wright behind a solid offensive line.
The honor makes Perry the first UofL player to get a nod this year, despite Teddy Bridgewater's stellar play as well as receivers DeVante Parker, Andrell Smith and tight end Nate Nord, who have all had great games. That's not to say Perry isn't deserving. He leads all Cardinal rushers with 559 yards which puts him on pace to be a 1000 yard man this year.
His running is one of the main reasons the Cards are ranked #14 in the USA Today College Coaches Poll. They also come in at #16 in the AP and BCS polls.
Your next chance to see Senorise Perry is this Saturday when the Cardinals celebrate homecoming at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium conference foe South Florida.
